Anthro Inspired Playroom
I had been eyeing THIS fabulous wallpaper for quite some time. I was waiting for just the right client to come along so I could incorporate it into a design. Low and behold, along came this playroom...
Can't you hear it crying out for some Anthro wallpaper?? This homeschooling mama needed a place where her girls could snuggle up and also work productively on their schoolwork. Organization and functionality is key in any space I design. And as you know, I never want to break the bank! Here was our inspiration:
I was so happy when she was willing to tackle the wallpaper, I really think it makes such a bold statement and the space would not be the same without it! We also incorporated some board and batten to not overwhelm the space.
Love the lamps! They have a touch sensor to tap on and off which is an added bonus at only $18 right now! They really brighten up the room and give each girl a sense of their personal space. I also love the contrast of the "PLAY" marquee letters! I wanted to make sure the space was not too sophisticated, so we incorporated a lot of whimsical touches throughout!
This canopy was such a sweet touch in the space. All our pillows here were from Pillowfort at Target! It is one of my favorite lines for kids that doesn't break the bank! And you can find my favorite faux sheepskin rugs HERE. Now, checkout this dramatic before and after:
One of my favorite spots in the room is the window bench made from Ikea's Kallax storage unit!! The super cute bins were a no-brainer. Love the contrast of the gold dots and coral! There are so many IKEA hacks for window seats and really your space will determine which one is right for you. We lucked out and were able to use two Brimnes bookcases with the Kallax storage unit and call it a day. However, it certainly took a couple different configurations and some "out of stock" drama to get us there. I really do love how it turned out. We have some bookshelves and some covered storage, because not everything is always "pretty" and functionality is a large part of design.
I absolutely love how cozy and playful this space turned out! I am so grateful for my sweet clients who welcome my creative freedom!
