EASY BREAD RECIPE

Updated: Dec 9, 2022

"Ain't nobody got time for that!" That's what I used to say when people would say they make their own bread at home. I just don't see myself as the kind of girl that could wait for dough to rise. Well, by TOTAL accident I was "forced" into learning how to make my very own homemade bread. The grocery store was out of bread due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, so mama had to do some problem solving.

I AM OBSESSED!!!

Seriously, you know when you go to Cheesecake Factory and they bring out all that bread with warm butter? That's what this tasted like. I made it all in one hour with just 6 ingredients. AND, I had all the ingredients at home except THE MAGICAL INSTANT YEAST!

GAMECHANGER!!!

The yeast made the bread rise while I preheated the oven. Now, that's my kinda yeast. None of this overnight or waiting for hours! I still get my tasty and fresh bread, but all in less than 60 minutes. Whoop whoop!

I was so afraid this was going to be a total Pinterest fail and I would have wasted all the flour. You can see even I was impressed by the quick rising yeast! It was a delicious and exiting process for all of us!

INGREDIENTS:

5 3/4 cups of all purpose flour

3 tbsp. sugar

1 1/2 tbsp. of salt

1 1/2 tbsp of Saf Instant Yeast (this is the KEY ingredient)

1 1/2 Tbsp oil

1 3/4 cups warm water (I checked with a thermometer to make sure it read 130° F)

RECIPE: (makes 2 loaves)

  1. Mix all dry ingredients in mixer with the pirate hook looking attachment for 3-5 minutes or until it turns into a ball and there is no flour left in the bowl.

  2. Spray all pans.

  3. Place the dough into the 2 pans and shape it without too much kneading.

  4. Cover with a towel for 25 minutes while you preheat the oven to 350°F

  5. Spray your knife and make a few cuts on the top of the bread (see photo).

  6. Cook in oven at 350°F for 25 minutes.

  7. Rub some butter along the top of the bread when it comes out of the oven.
