HOLIDAY HOUSE TOUR

Updated: Dec 9, 2022

This Christmas we didn't waste any time! We pulled down our decorations FAST! I knew I wanted to shop with purpose-which meant sifting through and decorating early. I wanted to share some BEFORE and AFTERS with you because, I'm kinda digging the AFTER...more than the BEFORE!

I kept things SUPER SIMPLE, because less is more. And I really didn't want to get fed up with all the decor early. You know what I mean? Like you almost feel claustrophobic from all the extra knick knacks everywhere?? So here ya go....

BEFORE

We FINALLY put pictures up in our frames. They have been empty for an entire year!!! It's about time!

I am a big believer in splurge and save! You can find a variation of my splurge ottomans HERE. And my "save" bar cart HERE. It's on sale now for $89, such a steal! Go now so you can have it stocked for all your holiday guests!

As you can see, my go-to fiddle leaf fig is making a cameo!

And in the left hand corner is my snake plant. Anyone can keep these alive. I promise you!

AFTER

Ta-da! I love the simplicity. A subtle "Winter Wonderland"!

Loving this Hearth & Hand by Magnolia wire tray. It is so versatile! It would work great as a coffee station or as an accent on a party table with silverware. So many uses!

But, my favorite find was this "Let's Mistletoe" pillow by Threshold at Target. It's on sale now too! It is intricately beaded and looks like it's worth way more than $18.99.

A couple of years ago we made the decision to buy a FAKE TREE! Yes, you heard it straight from the horse's mouth. I have zero regrets! We love our Balsam Hill tree. Worth. Every. Penny.

I try to be creative with our tree decorating, so I included some deer antlers, ribbon and other fillers to break up the ornaments. Honestly, half the stuff is Walmart, so it definitely didn't break the bank. But I think we ended up with a chic look! And I will probably tweak it a bit over the years. Let me know what you think, do you like the simplicity, or did this leave you wanting more?
